Right now my current way of cutting holes in walls is to use the clipping brush twice, leaving a ugly mess of a clipped wall, is there an easier way of doing more complicated clipping?

  1. Select your wall
  2. Get out the clipping tool and cut vertically first
  3. Go to the select tool and select your vertical cut
  4. Cut horizontally
There you go!

Did.... Link just get.... fucked?
wtf

It's open to interpretation.

Now to rerail this thread. If you want to cut a rectangular hole through a brush that isn't diagonal to any axes you can just select the brush, make another brush where you want the hole to be and click the magic button that twists the hearts and souls of mortal men (I'm talking about the carve button).

Ok, you can use carve in the specific situation I mentioned and it won't destroy the universe. Otherwise use the clipping tool.

"You shouldn't have done that" is a meme within the The Legend of Zelda fandom. It's used when you do something you shouldn't have (carve in this case). And it results in terrible, inexplicable things happening to Link.

"You've met a terrible fate, haven't you"
DONT FUCKING USE THE CARVE TOOL ON NON-RECTANGLES (shape distortion)

mind my language, but I was in your situation a while ago, and I was told use carve... which I did for 2 years straight... then again I was doing it for Half life 2, and never swapped from block geometry
