I got back and went to check the feedback on my map, and apparently everyone has missing textures and stuff. I thought I was using pakright right, but I guess not.

When i open up my bsp in pakrat it seems like it has everything in there, yet everyone claimed there's missing textures. So I dunno.

Protip for testing packing so this doesn't happen again: Turn on sv_pure 2 before loading up the map; that'll disable access to any custom texture and model files except the ones packed into the map.

The texturing was poor due to things blending in with other things. For example I think Tyler posted a link to a screenshot where there were some stairs with the same texture as the wall behind them and both the top of the step and side of it were the same texture.

Aha, found the link
These stairs are basically invisible

Hi, ECP.

Feedback for your map should be left in its thread.

You didn't pack the materials for the props you packed, littleboat_002 and trawler_002. Prop materials live in materials/models.

Pakrat can miss model textures. Try VIDE instead.

Yeah, I know about feedback.tf2maps.net, just that someone could have an extra pointer. I'll check out VIDE

No, not the feedback site, your map's forum thread. Sure they can leave feedback on the feedback site but you shouldn't start another forum thread and ask for map feedback in it because the map's feedback is then split and disorganised. People posting in one thread won't know about the other. It's what your map's thread is for.

Whoops, I just assumed you would link to that :s

Nobody's commented on it, and I didn't think you guys would take kindly to bumping it for no reason.

It's not common for people to take the time to post detailed feedback on a map's thread. There are so many maps, and if anyone is like me they probably prefer to leave feedback as they are play testing the map.
I only check the threads for the maps I am interested in, when there are new posts in them. I'm sure no one would mind if you posted in your own thread asking for feedback. It is a discussion forum, so that's what it's for. If you don't get a response you could pop in to Steam chat, or try that new status update thing on the front page.

I just did that and the game crashed, with error message : failed to lock vertex buffer in CMeshDX8::LockVertexBuffer: nVertexCount=2204, nFirstVertex = 0
