hello, i have run into a bit of trouble with hammer. here is a little bit of background to help you under stand my situation, so before the steam pipe update i was using the hammer editor from the tf2 files on my computer because the sdk launcher would not work for me. so yah :/, but one day i have no idea what happened but the proxy server stopped working and i could not connect to the internet no matter what, and has not to this day, however, i made a new account on my computer and it worked fine but, hammer dose not, when i start it up i asks me to configure it for the first time or something. so here i am 5 days later, i look at crashes tutorial and he runs hammer.bat to configure his and gets a pop up window asking which engine he is using (tf2,hl2) but when i run my hammer.bat nothing happens and i get the same pop up.

anyway sorry for the long explanation. but it is really annoying to login to different accounts to follow along with a tutorial. any help or suggestions would be much appreciated
much thanks in advance

hammer.bat just configures stuff as you said. You need to run hammer.exe in the same folder to launch Hammer.

i did however for some reason hammer.bat dose not configure properly or at all and when i start hammer.exe it is the same as before

Okay two questions:

1. What do you mean "It is the same as before?"

2. What proxy are you talking about? And which accounts? Steam accounts? TF2maps forum accounts? Internet accounts? What prevents you from watching Crash's tutorial videos?

I would have replied to your comment on my video, but your YouTube settings are currently set to not allow replies to your comments, just fyi.

Running the .bat used to always just bring up the command prompt and then disappear for me until recently, so that's not that abnormal. The next step is to run the hammer.exe and select your game there. This should load up Hammer and you should be all set.

Is it doing something else?
