A nice little home to keep the Eskimos warm.

It has a reference model and then 2 LODs for optimization.

Notice:
You need to build cubemaps in your map or else this model will look really bad!

I'd like to see heavy's head sticking out of the entrance.

(Something that even Valve has noticed:)
Using the nearest cubemap entity for a model can look bad.
In the case you think so as well, you can simply replace the env_cubemap part of the vmt with cubemaps/cubemap_specular002, or other cubemaps found in the same folder.

Thanks! I didn't know that. I might update the model so it uses that instead.

How the heck did I never know there were generic cubemaps built into the game? What are they currently used for?

Generic things.

I'm going to say I'm not a fan of the texture on this. It feels very, very low-res and very flat. I think that the normal map should be a lot stronger (if there even is a normal map, if there isn't, there needs to be). Or, there needs to be more depth to the sections between the blocks.

It's a great start, but definitely can use some refinement.

Yoghurt gets +3000 Frozen points for use of a Runescape Gif. Another +1000 for it being a mecha penguin of the communist penguins.

Thanks for the feedback. The texture is 512x512, and i don't think it should be any higher than that to be honest, since the igloo is probably only going to be used outside the playing area. I've created the texture in a 1024x1024 format and just scaled it down, so if people want me to i could probably make a 1024x1024 version.

I can see what you mean with the normal map, but with the lack of a propper software to edit and preview normalmaps i just don't have the patience to really make it perfect. Making the seams go seamless is hard with normalmaps...

I'll call this done for now and if someone actually uses it in a map that actually reaches beta i might revisit the model and make it better.
Also.. here's a wireframe render of the model:
