I need more to keep going, post whatever you find inspiring/motivational for mapping and level design

Honestly, just being able to run around and play in something I created and have others do so as well is enough motivation to me.

I do this all the time

all the time

My boyfriend hates it, but what can I do?

I guess my reason is just that one day I might do something right and how neat would that be
Plus it's a pretty interesting hobby to have

Not sure if I want to do this for a job, though

Throw on some Pendulum and I can be sucked into mapping for nearly 2-4 hours easily. Doesn't matter if it's for anything and I don't care if it looks good. Creating maps is all I've ever enjoyed truthfully, ever since I was 4 I've wanted a job just creating environments. When I got a PC for the first time way back when I got sucked into level design incredibly fast. So naturally getting motivation to map is pretty easy for me.

I guess if I wanted to find motivation I'd just run around a few maps in TF2, google some theme idea's, then blast a nice song.

I found Beethoven to also be great mapping music.

Watching some James Bond movies usually gets me thinking of spytech ideas. But usually it is just looking at natural formations or listening to movie soundtracks.

Just seeing the world or an environment and just think to myself... what would this be like if it where a map...how would it play...seeing all the fine details... has always inspired me. I have always loved building stuff, started out building Legos and now TF2 maps and minecraft.

Ive also always thought how cool it would be if other people played on my map and enjoyed it.
