I have 2 sloped walls to either side of a sewer entrance which I shaped with the vertex tool. However, when I compile the map and play it, the shape becomes undone.

Does anyone know what's wrong and how to solve it.

You need to put your images in the public folder.

It sounds like you've edited the vertices into a concave, which will not be compiled. You can't make a concave (C-shape) in hammer, you can only make convex or rectangular shapes, meaning for a tunnel entrance you'll likely need to make several small pieces of brush geometry or use displacements/models.

If you used just one brush, That is your Problem.

Brushes can't be Concave.

Pictures should be fixed now.

The brushes are quite simple. They go from sloped to flat, but maybe hammer considers that concave.

From the pictures it looks like you're only manipulating a single corner. That will create a concave area, as the brush "bends" at a diagonal along the middle. For the brush on the right, looking straight on with that doorway on the left, it looks like you're only moving the bottom-right vertex. This will cause a crease that goes between the bottom-left and top-right vertices, making it concave. To solve this, use the clipping tool to turn it into two triangular brushes along that crease (click the clipping tool button three times to keep both sides, I believe). Since a triangle cannot be concave, this should solve the issue.

Yes, thanks. Never made any shapes before now that produced concave shapes but now that I know about them, I shouldn't have any problems.
