So, I'm gonna create my first map..
I have a map and some sketches for how it'll look, I'll upload them in a few weeks, as I'm going on a vacation and problary won't be able to scan them before I'we gotten back.
Anyway, the map is gonna be pretty much a sewer, but I need to know how to create tubes, if you know what I mean, such as in the 2Fort sewers.
If you know how to, I would realy want to know it...
I'll give you more info on the map in one or two weeks, but I'll work on it during my vacation...
By the way, I got another question..
Is there a way to resize the grid whitout pressing [ or ]?
I need to press alt7 or alt8 to make them, and that doewn't work..

I think an arch will help you here
Make it the same way as a block, but then change the primitive to "Arch" instead of "Block" and you can get a nice hollowed-out cylinder shape (ie a pipe)
Just set it to 360 degrees :)

:gridsmaller::gridbigger: buttons along the top :)

And remember to make the arch block to func_detail. Otherwise it increases your compile time a lot.

My_hat_stinks:

The buttons wont work, since I'm using a swedish keyboard... Is it a way to go like:
Show/Grids/Enlarge(Or something?)
Or Can I just press - or +?
Then it might work, as the buttons are a little bit moved...

How do I change the primitive? Right click?

EDIT: + and - only zooms... I need it to go smaller, otherwise I can't make stairs you can walk on.... If you can't make the players bigger....

In the right hand side there is a box which says "primitives" and "block". Change "block" to "arch"

I've not used water, though, so I'm not sure about that

Water tutorial: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Adding_Water

The box you want:

You have to be in the block tool for the correct categories to show. You change the "block" to "arch"

Also, you should join us in the Steam chat. Many of your questions can be answered through the chat and doesn't need a topic.

Doh, ninja'ed :/

Thank you, just got one problem with it...
When I make a tube, it goes upwards... Or something.. So I have to make one wich gooes faar up, then turn it 90 degrees on the X-axis... Or some axis :p

Can I make it in another direction?
And by the way... Turned pipes? I want some 90 degrees turns...

That's the only way to make cylinders, arches, and toruses - they'll be made as if top view was the front.

To make 90 degree turns, you can take a pipe, Clip it at 45 degrees, then make another one, Clip it again, and join the two.
