So, some days ago I played TF2 in the morning. By the aftetrnoon Steam didn't boot and I had to reinstall three or four times for it to boot. After that it ran fine and today it's not working again. It doesn't even appear when I boot the computer and I have not changed anything since yesterday.

If I click a lot on the icon I can see the process or a very brief moment but then dissapears. I tried to reinstall and nothing happens.

So, what can I do? This is driving me mad.

Check the task manager and see if the process is running. If it is, kill it and start it again.

It doesn't appear in the process tab, if I click it very fast I will see it for a milisecond before dissapearing so it's terminating.

I also tried to delete the client registry but it didn't work.

delete all files in your steam folder except steam.exe and the steamapps folder, steam will download everything.

I did that and it didn't work.

But it created two files: ClientRegistry.blob and a crash dump file. This means that there's some kind of error but, as I thought, Steam boots.

All right it works again. I just repeated the same process and it worked for some reason.

Thanks everybody.
