Map went through several quick iterations before deciding on the one to roll _a1 out with.

Changed pretty swiftly into

Bridge proved (as suspected) to be a big old bowl of spam soup.

Anyhow, dramatic changed likely for _a2. No download link yet because there isn't any point anyone else reviewing something that will change so heavily.

I really enjoyed this map as a Sniper; on thing that bugged me though, was the area around the big pillars, away from the point, on the right side. There's a single ramp down there, meaning that someone who wants to escape quickly is stuck with one route; the others require tedious jumping. I like how the open point turned out; don't close it.

IMO, it seems pretty far off of Stark, but whatever floats your boat. I think that you could change around everything and give the map a new name.

There was a distinct lack of ammo, or at least where ever it was it was hidden. Most of the team approached the bridge from either end, lobbing rockets etc to the other end which meant there was a good 8 players fighting over 1 medium ammo pack. If you stick with the bridge it might be wise to place some mini ammo packs under each arch. But what ever your next release be it needs more small ammo packs!

Also, i felt that as a KoTH map it was quite linear. A sentry nest went up behind the rocks at the end of the bridge and stayed there for quite some time. A good amount of spam might dislodge it but i think a flank might serve better to prevent its linear layout. Maybe something into the building with the door that leads to the end of the bridge, or just joins into the central area next to the door.

Just from the screens, reminds me a lot of CPs 2 and 4 from Yukon and CP A from Gorge. Hell, I guess this bridge + 2 arches layout is just used a lot. :p

I look forward to playing it.

  1. Make rectangle
  2. Make cylinder of diameter equal to width of rectangle
  3. Slice in two
  4. Sandwich rectangle with cylinder halves

Its just some point_spotlights floating in the sky pointing down with wide angles and massive brightness values. Temporary, just for the first few alphas probably. Once I can get it playing well it should get detailed pretty quick.

Note to self: investigate icicle textures and remove normal map.
