Help? Windows/Glass

Ive been blocking out a map for the mapping contest, but I can't seem to figure out why I can't get my windows to work. I want them to look like the windows on most spytech maps, with the reinforced glass, but when I run the map, I can't see through them.
Does anyone know where I could find a tutorial for window creation?

If you happen to be using prop, HL2, or even some TF2 textures, they may not be transparent. Just find a glass texture in the texture browser and include the keyword 'tf' in your texture search. Finding a transparent glass texture is sort of trial and error the first few times, but if you find one it should look transparent in Hammer as well as in game.

Ok, ill try that, but is there anything else I will want to avoid doing with windows? And is there a list of glass textures? Because the one I was using looked clear in hammer then was pure grey in game.

Can anybody tell me how to make a transparent texture. I tried and i used the same steps as making a transparent spray (only with lowering the opacity on some layers) but when i came to flatten the image it didn't go transparent.
