Train Flats

Two recently reopened rail depots near the small valley town of Train Flats are actually the front for devious weapons of mass destruction. Realizing this, RED and BLU have sought to retrieve information from their competitor's offices to keep ahead of the other.

What began with Youme's hatred of my tree stump intelligence has turned into this. Train Flats is a mix between 2fort and Lumberyard's themes, breaking typical Capture the Flag stalemates with a streamlined layout and more open courtyards. The two bases are separated by a central station that is critical for control of the map, large depots for frantic, fast paced firefights, open courtyards to disable malfeasant sentry guns, and accessible intel rooms for the on-the-go kind of capper.

hmm so more alternative patheways look like they are needed. Besides that maybe something like CTF_Lumber or CTF_Railway or CTF_Forestry? You should put a large sawmill like forest around it and maybe 2 sawblades. Can you provide a picture of the intel rooms or point it out if you already have?

I didn't show any pictures of the intel room because I forgot to turn off my low res model pack. Let me take that off for now and I'll get a picture of it.

Edit:

Here we go

The second picture was actually the intel room, but it didn't show the intelligence.

Nothing big in the train station. The rooftops on either side could be used if you managed to get up there (I noclipped up.)

I didn't build many sniper spots because I didn't want play bogged down with idle snipers. One of the real problems with 2fort is that sniper is overused, meaning that nobody ever goes for the flag. Creating sniper spots that don't overlook the enemy base means that players looking for easy shots will need to look a little harder, which should mean less snipers and more players.

These windows here serve as the main battlements (and extend onto the rooftop next to it.) Snipers now become a much more defensive role.

And across from it is the depot roof, which could in theory be used as a sniping spot as well (looking at the previous location.)

you could put like a upper railing inside the top of the middle room that can only be reached from those windows or something like that. have you added health kits and such yet?

Well, if you're still around.... the ledges inside the buildings are fertile sentry farms

Not sure if you intended this or not (also not sure if you are still here?), but the Scout is able to completely leap over the water. The map in general is very scout friendly. Lots of spots to take advantage of double jumps and plenty of twists, turns, and large props to dodge around.

A4 is out. Hosting it on Dropbox because it's not uploading to TF2M.
