Or at least, that's the result I'm going for. I want to make these walls, floor, and ceiling look nice and rocky, and from what I've seen using a displacement is one of the best ways to do this.

However I have two questions:
1.) Would it be good to use them in such a small area?
2a.) If so, how should I set up the faces so that everything sews together nicely?
2b.) If not, how else could I accomplish this rocky effect?

Just so you know whats going on in the picture: The right path turns left and them makes a U-turn to the right, like a reverse question mark, all while sloping upwards. The path to the left drops down under the first path, opening up into a large room, which exits to a place just under where the first path does.

1) no, the problems isnt the cave, making it a cave doesnt obstruct you a lot, even if you didnt make that a cave, it should be a least twice as wide
2a)Search for the "sew" tool at the displacement tab. also take a look at 0)
2b)Use a lot rock props (Don't it will be a serious performace issue)

Thanks. I've seen that tutorial, and while it's definatly a good one, it doesn't quite answer my questions. I'm asking more about the logic behind sewing, because I've seen a lot of people saying that their displacements don't sew proporly, especially when dealing with slopes.

I guess I'll just play around with it and see if I run into any problems, the reason I asked this now was because I'm only just starting this map, and I didnt want to make the displacements just yet, I only wanted to set up the bocks correctly.

Ok, I think I understand what I need to do, but just to make sure:
I'll need to cut these 2 brushes along the plane of the top floor, correct?

Advice taken, the upper path now extends out to where the lower one drops down. :)
