Add my cube maps tutorial in? Link in sig...
DJive, the link to the HL2 Optimization guide is dead, has been for a while now. The new link to it is this: http://rvanhoorn.ruhosting.nl/optimization.php Please update!
^ aye, ty for that, i need to rework the guide to update all the links to make sure as well as add a ton .
the volumetric lighting link is broken
Removed 18 dead links
Added 12 Links
Fixed 8 Links
Is there a way to archive the content of the links? Just so they don´t die slowly?
Anyone know any good archiving software?
I think this thread is due for a fine combing, a couple of the links have become obsolete with new threads and Tutorials being produced (The Cubemaps one, for instance)
Link doesn't work (i know the one above links to the same thread but some retard might not)
also broke, geocities is dead. use http://www.bagthorpe.org/bob/cofrdrbob/vmex.html instead.
Also what are the pros/cons to the Model / 3D Editors suggested? im new to mapping let alone modeling and havn't the foggyist which one would be the easist to try my hand at
The Pakrat link is dead, and I need Pakrat >.>
Broken link. If it's such a must then why has no one noticed that the link's broken?
Here's another archive of photos with some good references in it (and it's really well organised): http://webapp1.dlib.indiana.edu/cushman/browse/index.jsp
Do you have this and this linked? They're both pretty useful.
^ thanks for the links guys, i will update when i'm home tomorrow.
New Pakrat link:
Hosted by an FPSB mirror, so it should last a while. Not 100% sure that is the most recent version of Pakrat though.
I propose the adding of Twister to the tools, somewhere. Designed for generating complex displacement stuff, most usefully domes and curved/ramped floors.
EDIT: Eh, and while I'm at it, Propper. For people who just need to make simple custom models and are more comfortable doing so in Hammer.
The Scale article is for CS obviously, Grazr's article is comparable if not better, and suited for TF2. Those units listed in the CS article should not be used for TF2
Would it be worth adding alternative compiling methods? I saw this related thread earlier:
In that thread A Boojum Snark mentions another compiling tool:
In "Architecture, Environment & Level Design" section, all links except "Mapping for TF2" are dead. And I really need 'em.
Broken Link. Source Suggestion.
Wanted to share a broken link located under Texture Editors/Resources:
Broken Link: Artweaver http://www.artweaver.de/index.php?en_version
