First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong section, the texture section looked like it was for release's only when i tried to creat a thread so, please move this if this trhead is poorly located :D

Anyway, im looking for some decent ice textures, ones that are semi transparent, refractive to light (when you look through the ice, the other side is distorted).

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you :)

Well I don't think there's any here, or if anyone is going to make any. But I do know of this tutorial on interlopers.net that will teach you how to make your own refracting textures.

    http://www.interlopers.net/tutorials/7216

And besides this one, there's plenty of info there at interlopers that can teach you and guide you all through the texture creation process.

I needed some ice textures a couple of days ago. I found [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aav1NKoHaTc"]YouTube - Team Fortress 2 Winter Textures[/ame] (Or rather my friend did) but that's the best I could find.

EDIT: download them in the video description.
EDIT 2: I just remembered I had a bit of trouble installing them and I think I had to remake all the .vmt files :/

That's a *VERY* nice ice texture. You know what would make it eve more awesome? Having another snow-based displacement beneath the ice to give it a great depth feeling. :)

Ill try and get that working :D

Im planning a project and i woul like realistic icicles hanging from a cave / realistic ice in general. However, it will be used sparingly, since ice textures generally dont fit the theme of Tf2, but i love what valve have done with the snow tho.
