Nice posters so far btw.

Just put your .vtf in the materials folder in blabla team fortress2/tf/materials or something, if you want, you can create a sub map there "signs", so its team fortress2/tf/materials/signs.
Put your vtf there and a vmt (.txt file renamed to .vmt afterwards):

"LightmappedGeneric"
{
"$basetexture" "signs/nameofyourtexture"
"$decal" 1
"$decalscale" 0.25
"$translucent" 1
"%keywords" "tf"
}

Thanks!

I still haven't wrapped my head around the need for a separate VMT file. (I guess I should have re-read Nineaxis' first post. :) )

BTW, What's up with the forum editor dropping words that start with a '$' ?!? (It really messed me up while I was trying to follow the object tutorial. All the samples looked like your quote above. It took me a few days to find the missing line in my VTX file.)

Most of them - if not all - are in the downloads section of this site.

Based on voter feedback, I tweaked my poster series.

I reduced the contrast and saturation, and dropped the dirt level.

This was my first pass:

Then, I went even more pastel:

So, which set is closer to the right look?

Thanks! :)

So, the pastel was too washed out?

  • Buckaroo Banzai: "Tell him yes on one and no on two."
  • Mission Control: "Which one was yes, go ahead and destroy Russia... or number 2?"

Maybe it's time to unsticky this topic and the one about the 1st contest, and sticky the ones for contest 4. Nothing is better than a tidy forum, you know! :O
