I felt like posting this here so why not.

Here in germany, the worst news paper+website in existance (bild.de) is trying to do some shit against adblocker. You can't visit the site with adblocker active. However, there are ways to visit the site anyways, and so Bild decided that they will go to court against anybody making tutorial videos that show how that is done. (Their arguments are trash btw.) Somebody made such a video and will now have to go to court because of this. He has to pay about 7.200€ to be even able to do anything, so he asked his subscribers and anybody else on the internet to donate some money. He got the money in less than 24 hours. The trial (is that the right word?) will be in about 2 weeks.
Conclusion: Bild really does suck.

You guys won't understand this stuff (because it's german) but just because why not:

As someone who makes their living of advertising on the web, I don't know which side I should be rooting for.

It's my opinion that if there is a legitimate reason to be avoiding the ads on a website, you should respond by not giving the site traffic at all. Likewise, if you just don't like being advertised to at all, suck it up and don't be a baby. Either way, don't act like having access to a particular website's content for free is some kind of basic human right.

That said, knowing how to do things and teaching others how to do things probably are basic human rights, because knowledge is power and power inequality is dangerous. If it's legal to learn how to make a bomb, it should absolutely be legal to learn how to change some data on your own computer, and I hope this goes badly for them.
