(I dunno where but I think this is the most appropriate place)
I'm going to be creating some Shipping themed models for a map I am working on. here are some pics of what I hope to be creating:
[red items have had appropriate design views found]

*http://fotosa.ru/stock_photo/Corbis_RF/p_2594956.jpg (both the crane and the ship)
*http://www.bcfbc.com/UserFiles/Image/building fitting/mooring bollard 02.jpg (or another ships bollard design)
*http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474977355104 (moar ship + crane)
*http://www.greenpeace.org.uk/files/images/migrated/MultimediaFiles/Live/Image/7501.jpg (something like this will sit in a dry dock with the front open)

Now here is where I need you guys. I need some design drawings (either hand drawn or sourced from the internet) of them so that I can efficiently recreate them in 3d. This means I need a side view, a top view at least and a front view and orna- onra- ortha- fancy angled downward view would be fab.

Also I might ask some Blender-specific questions here soon so any help there would also be good.

Many thanks

Maybe try this site here:

http://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/

but in all honesty. this is not the "guys please do the research for me"- forums. really, i don't want to be harsh, but i doubt that anyone of us has reference images of the stuff you want to create, so we would have to do research (google, wikipedia) as well and this is a "showcase"-board so maybe your thread is a bit early - but you already said that yourself in your first post :)

okay but on a helpful side ^^
since you'll be doing this for tf2, i would not heavily rely on front/side/orthographic view sheets. collect some nice images from google by searching for the desired things and then just begin modeling. i think then we can give you proper feedback which would help you more than more reference pictures, i guess. since these props are rather complex, i think you should be quite familiar with getting reference images :)

on a side note. while writing this post, i couldn't resist but googling and reeeeally you get an awful lot of nice reference images by the terms of "wharf/dock crane":

http://www.igg.org.uk/gansg/12-linind/docks/llwharf.jpg
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/eb/Bulk_carrier_general_arrangement_english.png

so my suggestion would be, go and so some proper research not just the first best pictures you can find - sometimes it's on page 22 googlepicsearch - i'mg going through this myself all the time. then start modeling and show your progress here and we will give you proper and constructive feedback.

research terms:
freighter
bulk carrier
cargo ship
wharf crane
dock crane

The first link was The kinda thing I was hoping for. The others where on the right track but something was lacking...
Anyway, I wasn't saying "guys please do the research for me" I was saying "if anyone has seen this kinda thing on the internet (or for some reason likes to create stuff like that:confused:) then it would speed up my research and I would greatly appreciate it"
