Overlay [Request]Grass Border overlay

I found an overlay the transitions grass into sand nicely, but it isn't dark enough.
Can someone make me a grass border overlay that matches the grass texture
"nature/grass_003". (It's the darkest "nature/grass" texture.)

If nobody want's to help me, can someone post a guide on how to get existing TF2 Textures into Gimp?
I can't find them anywhere.
