I'd say it was finished; there's not really anything else that needs to be done, other than obviously making it official since otherwise it's a ridiculously huge download.

I decided to repack this just to see how small it gets; it went from 182 megs to 66. Damn shame the game treats a repacked map as a mismatch, and renaming would require a recompile, which in turn is impossible because of the new lower limits on stuff.

On that note, I wonder if we ought to hide all of Rexy's texture and model downloads until such time as he gets a job somewhere else, since there's not much point in anyone using them if they have any plans to get their map picked up by Valve.

That's not quite fair, especially if someone wants to use them for SFM or a non-serious map. Is it possible to add a disclaimer to his stuff?

Have you repacked the .bsp? It's often too much to expect people to download a map of a file size greater than 100,000 KB directly through Team Fortress 2, even if it is packaged in a .bz2 to be made smaller.

Again, this map is old and Rexy has a non-compete that says he can't work on this stuff any more.

I'm not sure when repacking was added but I believe it was after this map was released.

His company doesn't want him to work on some personal stuff ? That's kind of really harsh.

well I may have one line about that on my contract as well.. but.. meh!

Let me just state for the record that any content I've made prior to signing a contract is fair for use in your projects. Those we're all made prior to my employment. I just can't make new content or work on other games, that's what my non compete agreement says.

Thanks for the clarification! I've lost count the number of times someone has asked if they can safely use your forklift model in maps.

Does that mean you'd be allowed to share the source files as well? Because I know people have been wanting to make recolors of some of the Mann Manor stuff, and it'd be way easier to do (and not result in re-compressing already-compressed textures) if they had the PSDs.

Hi!

Very new here so not sure about the etiquette of this so I apologise if anything I say comes off wrong. I'm running a TF2 custom maps server, and I'm currently running this map on it. Unfortunately, bots don't work on this map. I generated a navmesh, and it only covers a few different points. I also find it's much easier for people to download the maps from the Steam Workshop, rather than wait for the .bsp to be sent over. I'm also creating a collection so people can download the content ahead of time without having to host it myself.

Is it OK if you pack in a navmesh for bots, and upload this to the Steam Workshop?

rexy hasn't been around for a very long time and hasn't uploaded or updated anything since 2015. also as theyve stated above in this thread they are bound by a contract and are not allowed to work on other games so i doubt they would do this for your little server after like, 7 years.
